DIY Floral Hat

Put A Flower On it!

Or three or four or five. You get the point.

Supplies:

  1. Hat
  2. Snips
  3. Paddle wire
  4. Floral adhesive
  5. Eucalyptus (Gunni works great!)
  6. Roses/Spray Roses
  7. Dried & Fresh Product (fern, chamomile)

Process:

Step 1: Source a hat. Any hat will do!

Step 2: Gather your supplies — wire, snips, and glue if it’s a one-time-use hat.

Step 3: Get your flowers, faux or fresh.

Step 4: Prep all your flowers and greenery — clean off any unwanted leaves and snip smaller, manageable stems of greenery.

Step 5: Wire on your greenery to create a halo around the hat.

Step 6: Wire your focal flowers. Cut the rose close to the base of the bloom, thread wire through the calyx twice to make an X, then wire to the hat or greenery.

Step 7: Go to town! Wire in as many blooms as you like.

Step 8: Finishing touches — use extra eucalyptus leaves, bleached fern, or dried material to add depth and texture.

*Layer in components for more detail — use one product throughout before moving to the next. Cool glue or floral adhesive works great for smaller details that are hard to wire.
